Yamaha YHT380 Home Theater System

For $299 to $400 I haven't seen one better

Strengths: The quality that yamaha brings, speaker clarity, sub woofer, reciever and tuner

Weakness: No HDMI

I was in Best Buy one day with my friend and I was looking at the $199 to $399 range home theater systems. I was seeings your usual Panasonic, Samsung, Sony and LG. All of these were 5.1 channel home theater systems but as opposed to a reciever they have a DVD player that acts as a reciever. Many only have analog in (Red and White) audio. Being an electronics salesmen partime at sears, so I know a thing or two about electronics.

The red and white analog in audio does not even provide full true 5.1 channel surround sound. But the Yamaha has two optical and one digital coaxial, each providing full 5.1 digital audio from the amplified reciever.

Thats where this home theater in a box blows anything else in its price range. The reciever is the key to any home theater system it amplifies the sound as well as creates a more natural sounding system.

Yamaha makes some of if not the best recievers in the high end area. I have seen their recievers in the thousands of dollar range. Obviously this isn't of those recievers but in all honesty it is very good. Alone I have seen this reciever at or around $250 dollars. When you get the receiver, the subwoofer and the speaker system all in a set for under $300, it is one of the better deals on the market.
