SP5000 projector
Strengths: Quiet, easy to hook up
Weakness: narrow range of zoom.
I like this projector - its my first one so I don't have anything else to compare it to yet - however, it was easy to set up and the image looks great. My only complaint is that the zoom could allow for a little more image size adjustment - this isn't a problem if you have the projector in one spot all the time, but if you plan on moving it from location to location regularly, it would be nice to...

InFocus SP5000 projector
Strengths: Bright, 720p, HDTV compatible
Weakness: Expensive replacement lamp, no 'whisper' mode, Need special cable to upgrade firmware
Just got this about 2 weeks ago and love it. Only down sides are those listed in the weaknesses above (Infocus wants $400 for a replacement lamp, no quiet or whisper mode to save bulb life and reduce noise, and you must have a special cable to upgrade the firmware). The projector is rated at 1100 Lumens but I think that is conservative, it is really bright! The Tilt Leg is kinda 'flimsy' but it...

Outstanding HD projector
Strengths: Low cost This is true High Definition ! 720p resolution. Light Cannon. Very bright. Can be used even in ambient light and does not need darkroom
Weakness: Blacks are not the best. But at this price and brightness, who cares ?
Simply outstanding ! Best bang for the buck currently. Biggest stength is that it is very bright. Does not require any dark room. Ambient light is ok with this projector. Also at this price, it is a true high defintion projector at 720p. Would highly recommend it.

Great Value
Strengths: Great Picture, Low Price, Quiet, 'Smart' interfaces, nice and bright.
Weakness: occassionally overheats
I purchased the SP5000 for use in a home teather. I use it for HDTV, DVDs, console games, and occassionally teaching classes using a PC. Given that you have high quality input and cables (its sensitive.) the picture quality is top notch. Two friends who also have projectors frequently comment on how much better this looks than theirs. I'm also very pleased with the intelligence built into the...

This Projector is impressive
Strengths: Clarity, quietness of projector, size of projection at 11-13 ' is huge (fits 106x60 matte gray screen)
Weakness: Too early to get full HDTV hookup
I looked exhaustively for a reasonably priced projector that had the goods and could reasonbably provide the definition I wanted. I am certain this with the current discount is the best buy for the dollar- Infocus 5000.
