Amazing Television

Strengths: Color, Contrast Ratio, Amazing picture clarity, No bulbs, no color wheels

Weakness: none so far!

I’ve purchased the Samsung HLT5087S 50" Slim LED Engine 1080p DLP HDTV a few weeks ago and I can only give is EXTREMELY high reviews. Picture: The TV provides for a full 1080P resolution. The picture clarity is amazing! I am now officially spoiled. I receive my HD signals over the air using a plain antenna. The decoder in this TV also picks up a few extra stations sometimes depending on the...

Samsung 50" DLP High Definition Television HL-T5087S

Strengths: Gorgeous picture...I'm so impressed. Quite skinny for DLP at 11" deep. This is the new LED technology--no bulb replacement after one year of use. This DLP is great value versus plasma.

Weakness: Location of the remote sensor limits placement of the center surround speaker. Sound on the TV is ok, but a surround system is essential to fully enjoy the HD experience.

I highly recommend this television. I have admired the Samsung plasma TV's for years but could not afford such an expense! After hearing of their new skinny DLP version I had to check it out. I viewed this TV alongside my other two favorites: Samsung plasma & Pioneer Elite plasma. I could not tell the difference. I paid about $1500 for this TV, which beats paying $3500 or more anyday. I'm very...

Samsung HL-T5087S 50" DLP Projection TV

Strengths: no bulb, bright, good preset-picture settings

Weakness: brightness can fade if youre not sitting directly in front of it

this has been a great unit so far. the picture is very bright, when youre sitting right in front of it. the brightness levels falls off pretty fast once you get more than 2 or 3 feet off to the side (from about 10 feet away), but, even then, you can still see the picture. it just is not as bright as head-on. the sound is fine for a tv. dont expect a sound that you would get from a dedicated sound...

Great TV at a great price

Strengths: absolutely great tv with great clarity; 1080p; first LED DLP; so weightless just 60 lbs compared to 90+ lbs for Plasma; DVDs play great very apt connection options with so easy setup

Weakness: none so far; I am using with direct antenna connection and yet so better.

What a great tv, makes me wonder what I was doing w/o a 50" all this time. I was always considering many models of Panasonic like 600U and 50PH9UK for a long time, but never could get the price around 1500$. Memorial day and Buy.com brought this TV to my attention with LED DLP and 1080p (Full HD) with 2 yr additional full warranty at 1600$+. Amazing price, TV was at my doorstep in 2 days. HD...

awsome TV at reasonable price

Strengths: picture quality on up-converted DVD signal, HD signal from Cable/over air. Sleek design (for a DLP), light weight

Weakness: sound quality

I have this tv for about one month now. Bought it from amazon.com towards end of April. --- My experience with the TV has been nothing but great. The TV picture quality from up-converted DVD signal, HD broadcast from cable service is mind blowing. It makes me want to stay in the living room and watch more TV program/ movies. The picture from the TV seems really "life like" and the charactors are...
