Not bad
Strengths: A lot of different configuration options. Good price to quality.
Weakness: Lack of microphone inputs. Lack of compatibility for different type of DVD players
We bought this as an amplifier for the party. The price is OK compared to other home theater receivers, however, the setup is plainly painful. This product lacks the basic support for older type of DVD players which does not support optical cable output. And the other downside is lacking of microphone inputs. The other features are nice and easy to use though.

Decent receiver
Strengths: Multiple inputs, Sony name
Weakness: Remote and surround is not that intuitive
I am not an audiophile but as a novice to home theater receivers this Sony STR-DG510 fits the bill. It has multiple inputs and was easy to set up. It's perfect for a small room or bedroom. I would buy again for the price I paid (under $100).

Sony STR-DG510 Receiver
Strengths: Price, number of connections, sound, brand name.
Weakness: Configuration, front panel button options, remote.

Seem to need the remote for a lot of operations, front panel doesn't necessarily have access to everything. Remote itself has...

Weakness: none
STR DG510 Receiver has 5.1 Channels 100 W/Channel and Supports 4 Devices. It has good clear sound. Easy to set up. Universal remote control is included. More component inputs would be useful

Excellent value
Strengths: HDMI, Price. Lot of Inputs
Weakness: None
Rock solid Sony receiver. You can see and feel the quality in this unit. Very clean sound. Lots of input options, including optical input. The power output is not enormous, but completely adequate, particularly with quality speakers. I live in a very rural mountainous area with poor FM reception, and I have found radio reception on this unit to be quite good, just using the FM antennae that came...
