Pioneer Elite PureVision PRO-940HD 42
Strengths: Picture clarity, pure color, excellent gray/black contrasts, great fast motion tracking, easy to watch
Weakness: Expensive
We had just purchased a high quality 42" LCD and noticed that you could not see the wrinkles or seams on a dark jacket in a night time setting. In addition the LCD set could not track fast motion (i.e.. basketball games) and was hard on the eyes (too bright, etc.). So we returned it and purchased the PRO-940HD !!!WOW!!!, This TV is easy to watch, colors are brilliant, but not overwhelming, the...

Great televison
Strengths: Easy menu, vivid colors, factory 2-year warrantee,
Weakness: reflective frame. Some ports will be difficult to connect if already mounted.
It's loaded with features:
Cable Card tuner
Microsoft media inteface
intuitive menus
learning remote
Lighted remote
Inputs scan for input signal on periferal interconnects and choose best source. I believe this automatic. Don't know how to force using specific video interfaces yet.

Very good TV I have ever seen
Strengths: Media Center Gallery for avi file, good SD quality, not easy to burn in with special protection, not expensive price for the best tv in the world
Weakness: Buzz from the rear
I got this one for one week. The PQ is excellent watching HD channels. PQ on SD channels is better than my expectation. No snow or noise on the screen under 480i mode. My favorite function is the home network connection that you can watch digital files in your PC. Because there is no DA conversion, the picture quality is awesome even watching VCDs. The best point is that it takes avi files, and I...

STUNNING PICTURE, ELEGANT LOOK
Strengths: INCREDIBLE PICTURE. Recent price drop. Pioneer quality. Beautiful, glossy black "face" is elegant in my home. Sound is clear and mellow.
Weakness: None !
I was so happy to find the cost of the incredible Pioneer Pro Elite had been improved. I have a limited (41.5) wide space and thought I would havve to "settle" for a lesser quality TV until I found Pioneer PRO-940HD plasma which has a 42in screen in a 41" case. The picture is amazing and the case is simply elegant...a beautiful piano black...no distracting silver trim. Found it from my local home...

Pioneer Elite PureVision PRO-940HD
Strengths: Excellent picture from a great looking TV
Weakness: TV Guide Interactive Program Guide is not very user friendly.
I've had Pro-940HD for 4 months, and get excited everytime I watch it. This plasma HDTV is far superior to my former unit, a Pioneer PDP-4350, in terms of picture quality. The blacks are truly black, not dark grey, and the color palette is outstanding. The unit itself is very good looking, although I wouldn't have minded if Pioneer had kept the media receiver for inputs rather than going into the...
