HDMI Upconversion Feature is Laughable
Strengths: Fantastic Sound.
Weakness: HDMI UpConversion feature is useless.
This receiver provides excellent sound and power. I've never heard anything better in a Home Theater. However...I could have lived with the sound quality of a receiver costing half of what this one did. I paid the extra money for this receiver primarily for the HDMI upconversion feature. I thought it would be great to only have to run a single cable from the receiver to my High Definition...

Sony STR-DA7100ES receiver
Strengths: Very powerful, clean sound. 2 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output. Phono input. Nice remote.
Weakness: None so far
I am very impressed with this receiver. The difference in sound quality from what I was using before is astounding. I am now hearing things in recordings that I never knew existed before. I think for the money, you can't beat all the features and quality of this receiver.
